Alright after a couple weeks of research, I don’t feel like I am getting much traction, so I appeal to the phone/Canada nerds of Oppo to help me out! I need an phone!
I have Verzion Wireless as my cell ph one carrier. I like that I usually have service when others do not, but don’t like other things about it. Either way, I am not looking to change carriers.
I am looking at traveling in Western Canada , BC and Yukon Territories, where Verizon coverage is nil. Verizon offers the option to roam on GSM networks internationally if you have a “world phone” that has GSM and CDMA frequencies.
The problem is I can’t find the right search terms to find a phone with the right frequencies!
!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!
Android preferred
No more than $500 (used - Like New OK)
CDMA + GSM (See frequency chart for Bell Mobility, below)
Good camera a plus
!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!

Get you a Nokia 9.
It is slick and has one of the best camera’s I’ve ever seen on a mobile phone. I love mine.

Look at Google Fi for service and whatever Pixel device fits your budget. I’ve had excellent experiences with both

If you haven’t a lready maybe try Amazon’s C anadian storefront? I don’t know if shipping would be worse or anything but it might give you a clearer idea of which models will work up there.
In any case I am enjoying the new Nokia phones.

I recently picked up an unlocked Moto X4 for $120 from Amazon. It works well on Verizon out here in Southern NM/Far West Texas. I’m a happy camper. It isn’t the latest and greatest of anything, but was a significant upgrade from the broken phone I was using before and cheap enough to not care too much about if something bad happens to it.
GSM are na might be the website you are looking for when it comes to models and specs.

Google pixel 3a or the regular one? I got a regular pixel through Verizon United States for like 650$ but the new 3a is only 400$ and is fairly good for the price, same camera as the 3 and it seems like a bargain for stock Android and Google's proprietary camera software

Im weird and I have a Blackberry Key2 LE. I love it, the keyboard is fantastic, and it has worked flawlessly for about a year, and it’s fully android based . The full-price Key2 has a touch-physical keyboard and a better camera. It is an excellent conversation starter.

$$$! Also bigly.
If I wasn’t looking to buy a different phone later this year I would consider it though.

I was looking at a G6 for similar reasons. Can certainly be had on the cheap.

I was rocking a G4 play before it. That phone wasn’t great originally, and it didn’t get better with age or a cracked screen. It was cheap, though.

I miss keyboard phones so much. Are you the one who tricked me into pre-ordering the F(x)whatever? Because I did do that. Sadly it won’t be out in time for the trip. Looks like the Key2 doesn’t support CDMA?

Hmm if I was going that route I’d probably go for a butt phone...

What can I say, I like not having a dumb box to stare into.
* No offense meant, just generalizing about smart phones and their usual user.*

Hm I dont know of any f(x)whatevers. What is that? And unfortunately the Key2 is GSM only, CDMA is kind of old school. It is dual sim capable though. I switched carriers to AT&T just to have this phone, and I’ve been extremely satisfied with the service (unlimited data and all that $52 a month w/taxes)
